When Jesus told the disciples, “Suffer the little children to come unto me ...” he really meant, “Don’t send them away from me.” The clear implication, we believe, is to direct children toward Jesus' Ministry at First Baptist Church through kid-sensitive Sunday Schools, worship services and fun filled activities and events.  Connecting children to a world greater than their own comes through many different emphases.  


The Bible says God gives children as an inheritance from Him.  There’s no greater heavenly “trust fund” than these ministries from the Creator.  That’s why our children are so important to us. And because, Jesus said, “...of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

SUNDAY MORNING


Kingdom Kids Ministries of Buffalo Gap First Baptist Church is committed to teaching and ministering to children through the Fifth grade.  Our desire is to guide children through Bible study and various activities to experience a personal relationship with Jesus. We are committed to building a partnership with parents to provide a total ministry to children.

The Children’s Ministry Bible study classes meet at:

9:30 AM in Portable Buildings

God-focused, Child-tailored  Bible Study


  • Children explore Bible truths with other children of the same age
  • Classes are taught by dedicated, trained teachers who guide children to learn Bible truths and apply them to real life
  • We use the Family Bible Study series of curriculum by Lifeway which implements many methods of instruction to engage children in active learning
  • Children are encouraged to participate in art, drama, games, music, and a variety of other activities that motivate to learning while having a great time

10:30 AM in Worship Building for Children to 1st grade

WORSHIP BUILDERS – During Worship for Parents

Worship Builders is a worship alternative for children through 1st grade. Parents are welcome to take their children to a worship service, however, we provide this option for parents who feel their child would benefit more from a service designed for children.  Also parents are encouraged to stay and see what we do and to help. 

AWANA is an international Bible-centered youth ministry providing local churches with weekly programs. Our AWANA Ministry is for children in the first through fifth grades. The acronym AWANA comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (2 Timothy 2:15).

Children hold a special place in Jesus’ heart. He created them.  He sacrificed His life for their sins. He longs for them to know, love and serve Him.  He desires to spend eternity with them. His kingdom belongs to such as these.That’s why kids matter so deeply to First Baptist Church of Buffalo Gap.  One of our finest programs to help Children learn about God is Awana.   We believe Jesus is the answer to every child’sneeds, particularly for salvation.  AWANA is designed to help clearly and consistently communicate thegood news of Jesus Christ and His plan for their lives, as expressed in His Word, each week of the Awana year.
